Where mail should land
Use this so creators, writers, and partners always get the right queue. Public routing matches Contact; this page adds operator judgment and edge cases.
Rule of thumb: Licensing and creator republication → media@. Harm, privacy, abuse reports → safety@. Everything else routine → support@.
| Address | Use for | Not for |
|---|---|---|
| media@dearnobody.org | Permission to feature letters off-site (podcast, video, written), Tier A/B threads, scripted collaboration, press that needs licensing clarity. Follow Media Policy. | General tech support, account recovery, “take this down” safety reports, research consent (usually a different path—Research vs media). |
| safety@dearnobody.org | Content violations, privacy/safety concerns, reports that may need moderation or escalation per Community Guidelines. | Creator licensing—unless the same thread also needs the other track, then coordinate (see Escalation matrix). |
| support@dearnobody.org | General questions, bugs, feedback, non-licensing partnership pings that are not yet vetted for Tier B. | Approvals or formal permission—move to media@ and continue the thread there. |
Examples
- “Can I read letter X on my YouTube?” → media@ (even if they mailed support first—reply once asking them to continue on media@ or forward internally and answer from media@).
- “Someone harassed me using text from a letter” → safety@ (triage per Trust & safety ops).
- “The site won’t submit on mobile” → support@.
Law enforcement & legal process
Do not improvise. Point agencies at the public Law Enforcement Guidelines and loop whoever owns legal response. Preserve threads and any internal notes your process requires.
Press vs creator
Contact groups press under “Media & Partnerships” to media@. If the inquiry is news coverage (quote/fair use context) vs re-performing a full letter, still start in media@ so one team owns the thread; escalate internally if counsel wants a different handling.
