Standard collaboration (Tier A) checklist
Every row must be Yes (and revoke right confirmed in writing). If any answer is No, escalate to Commercial partnership (Tier B).
For new teammates: Run this table for every Tier A candidate before you send the approval template. If you want to say “yes” but one row is No, that is a Tier B conversation—not an exception you invent in the thread.
Why this exists
The public Media Policy promises a narrow, non-commercial track. This checklist is the operational translation of that promise. It protects writers and keeps approvals uniform across different people on the team.
Example (mental model)
A creator wants one read-aloud on a tiny podcast, no ads on the episode, channel has no Patreon tied to episodes, they sent an outline. You open the episode page: monetization is off. Rows 1–6 look like Yes. Row 7 is satisfied by the template + their reply. → Tier A.
Common mistakes
- Assuming “they seem nice” equals non-commercial—verify the channel pattern, not vibes.
- Approving without a script/outline because they are in a hurry—Tier A still needs row 6.
- Letting them “agree in spirit” without the exact acceptance line—see Playbook G.
