Tier A approval email (template)
Send from media@dearnobody.org (e.g. Apple Mail). Fill [brackets]. Their reply with “I agree to these terms” + name completes the license.
For new teammates: Paste into mail, replace [brackets], send only from media@dearnobody.org. Do not attach a PDF “contract” unless counsel provides it—this email + their reply is the Tier A license.
Why this exists
Creators need a single, readable document that matches what the site says publicly. The template encodes scope (one project), credit, trigger/content warnings, no endorsement, and what happens if the letter disappears—so we are not negotiating from scratch each time.
Before you send
- Double-check letter URL/ID matches the live public post.
- Skim the live letter page for trigger/content warnings—the template requires the creator to honor them.
- Confirm you already ran the Tier A checklist (all eight rows).
- Keep the thread in media@ for filing in Drive.
Subject: Dear Nobody — Standard collaboration approval: [Letter ID or short title]
Hi [Creator name],
Thank you for wanting to feature Dear Nobody in your project. Based on what you sent and our Standard collaboration (Tier A) checklist, Intelliquinte L.L.C. (“Dear Nobody”) grants the limited permission below. This email plus your reply confirming you accept these terms is your media license for this project only.
1. What you may use
- Letter: The public post identified as [letter public ID or full URL on dearnobody.org], as published on the date of this approval.
- Project: [e.g. Read-aloud / video / podcast episode — short description]
- Where: Only on [channel or series name] at [URL], in [audio / video / written format as agreed].
- Scope: Non-commercial for this use: no monetization on this specific piece and no monetization on the account/channel distributing it, and no sponsorships, brand deals, or paid memberships tied to this content, consistent with our Media Policy.
2. What you must do
- Credit Dear Nobody with a visible link to https://dearnobody.org (e.g. video or episode description).
- Follow the script or outline we approved: [brief pointer or “as in your email dated ___”].
- Trigger and content warnings: You must honor any trigger warnings, content warnings, or similar notices that appear on the applicable Dear Nobody letter on dearnobody.org (e.g. in how you introduce, frame, or label the material). You must also add any additional trigger or content warnings you reasonably consider appropriate for your format, platform, and audience (including warnings beyond what appears on the site, where warranted).
3. What you may not do
- Sublicense this letter to others, sell it, or put it in a paid product (book, course, etc.) without a new written agreement.
- Imply that Dear Nobody or Intelliquinte endorses you, your channel, or your views.
- Use additional Dear Nobody letters without a separate request.
4. If the letter is removed or we revoke
- If the letter is deleted from Dear Nobody or we revoke this approval (including for breach), you will stop new publication and remove or delist the content within fourteen (14) calendar days of written notice from media@dearnobody.org.
- We may revoke immediately if you break these terms.
5. Relationship
- This is not a partnership, employment, or agency relationship. The writer of the letter retains copyright; you are receiving a narrow license from Dear Nobody as steward of the platform.
Please reply to this message with exactly: “I agree to these terms” and your full name (or the legal name of your channel/entity, if applicable).
Thank you,
[Your name]
